Headway Welcomes Dr. Neha Chaudhary as Chief Medical Officer to Enable High-Quality Mental Health Care at Scale

Harvard psychiatrist and digital health leader joins to advance clinical excellence and research across the nation’s largest mental health provider network

NEW YORK, Aug. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Headway, the company building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access, today announced the appointment of Dr. Neha Chaudhary as Chief Medical Officer. A double board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Chaudhary maintains an active clinical practice and brings proven leadership in scaling digital mental health solutions. She joins Headway to strengthen clinical quality standards at scale across the company’s network of 60,000 mental health providers. She will report to Founder and CEO Andrew Adams.

“Dr. Neha Chaudhary’s hire reflects our commitment to pairing access with clinical excellence,” said Andrew Adams, Founder and CEO of Headway. “Her ability to translate research into practical solutions, combined with her entrepreneurial approach to innovation, makes her the ideal leader to help Headway set new standards for high-quality care at scale.”

Dr. Chaudhary joins Headway from Modern Health, where she served as Chief Medical Officer and led initiatives in clinical strategy, quality and research that informed product development and demonstrated measurable outcomes. She co-founded the Stanford Lab for Mental Health Innovation, pioneering evidence-based frameworks for mental health product design and co-leading the first university course on mental health innovation. Her entrepreneurial approach and ability to turn complex research into actionable insights have made her a sought-after advisor to digital health and technology companies. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, CNN and ABC News, shaping public understanding of mental health — from innovation to effective intervention to access.

At Headway, Dr. Chaudhary will lead clinical strategy, quality initiatives and the company’s research function, working closely with product, technology, data and clinical operations. She will focus on deepening the impact of Headway’s care — improving quality, effectiveness and provider experience — and using data to measure outcomes for both patients and the broader network.

“Mental health care is experiencing a once-in-a-generation opportunity to combine scale with scientific rigor,” said Dr. Chaudhary. “Headway’s infrastructure creates an unprecedented opportunity to conduct meaningful research, establish evidence-based care pathways and demonstrate what quality mental health care looks like at scale. I’m energized by the chance to build something entirely new — a research and clinical strategy function that doesn’t just support providers and patients, but actively advances the field.”

Headway’s clinical investments build on its impressive growth, positioning the company to expand access while also setting new standards for quality in mental health care.
